Meyer Plastics opens its new headquarters in Lawrence

Meyer Plastics cut its ribbon for its grand opening today at 5968 Sunnyside Road. The four-generation, family-owned plastics company has been in business for 65+ years. President Ralph Meyer leads the company with 70-75 employees. The new headquarters is 110,000 square feet, with the ability to enhance the space an additional 30,000 square feet in a future expansion. Economic Development Director Cam Starnes said Meyer Plastics developed a former brownfield site which had been vacant. He added that future development may take place south of the location. Mayor Steve Collier welcomed President Ralph Meyer and his 75 employees during the ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the Greater Lawrence Chamber of Commerce. Meyer provided tours of the new headquarters during an open house this morning.
