City receives $1M in Community Crossings grant funds for 2019 paving

Mayor Steve Collier announced a $1 million grant yesterday from the State of Indiana and INDOT for paving projects throughout the city. DPW Director Bill Anthony said the funds will be put to use paving projects this spring. Anthony said, "We anticipate the work to be completed by the end of summer, but should begin in May." The City of Lawrence received the notification of award from Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb and INDOT Commissioner Joe McGuinness. Anthony said Sunnyside Road (56th to 75th), Lee Road (56th to Fall Creek), Oaklandon Road (Verdin to 75th) and 75th (Sunnyside Road to Oaklandon Road) are the designated projects in the next few months.
