Perseverance is what we do best
February 17, 2023
“The best part of Black Culture is our perseverance. Man, we persevere. We persevere through bad situations, and we have definitely been though a lot. Perseverance is what we do best. I never give up, and I’m trying to cement this into my daughter's head that never give up on anything that you feel strongly about. There are going be hurdles. There are going to be people that try to tell you this, try to tell you that, but never give up. Stay focused. Tunnel Vision. If you think something is right and you need to be doing it, stay focused and never give up. Don’t give up, because that is what they want you to do. They want you to give up so you can’t complete your dream. Never giving up is something I put into my daughter's mind every day. This world is not easy, and you got to have that mind state to win.
My 6-year-old daughter London is one of the best things that has happened to me in my life. The Live Project is another one of my biggest accomplishments. I started the Live Project with $300 and a tax check. And now, I service five farmers markets, seven gas locations in the surrounding areas. You can order online too (liveproject1.com) We are in the process of mass production right now. Those are some of greatest accomplishments: first, my wife and my daughter, and next the Live project.
It is important to celebrate Black History Month. Of course, each month is great but, BHM is every day of the year and if you know, you know. You know? It's important to celebrate the culture, the music, the inventions. I could go on and on about BHM and all the things that Black Americans have helped this country with. We need to do better. We have done a great job but there are some things we need to tune up in our society. I think all cultures need to do better. We need to better ourselves, it's all on us. I feel like once we dot some i’s, cross some t’s, and get some things straight, we will be better. We are already great, but we can be better.” - James Long, Founder and CEO of The Live Project
