Hofmann accepts Above & Beyond Award for LPD

Chief Hofmann was honored to accept the "Above & Beyond" distinction which was recently awarded to the Lawrence Police Department by the ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) State Committee at the Crane Bay Event Center in Indianapolis. The Above & Beyond Award recognizes employers at the local level who have gone above and beyond the legal requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) by providing their National Guard and Reserve members additional, non-mandated benefits and support before, during and after their deployment to military service in defense of the United States. LPD Officer Jeff Gray also serves as a National Guardsman and attended the event with Chief Hofmann. LPD is thankful for all who serve our community and nation in police and military service
