It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Detective Michael McKenna, who bravely served the Lawrence Police Department with honor, dedication, and compassion for over 17 years. Detective McKenna passed away on April 10th after a courageous battle with cancer.

Throughout his service, Detective McKenna was known not only for his unwavering commitment to protecting our community but also for his kindness, integrity, and the deep respect he showed to everyone he encountered.
