LPD Partnering with Kroger for Pack the Cruiser Food Drive
June 1, 2023

Food drive to benefit Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township food pantries
This weekend, shoppers have the chance to support those experiencing food insecurity, while visiting the supermarket for groceries.
Saturday, June 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kroger supermarket 11101 Pendleton Pike, Lawrence PD officers will be outside the Kroger store accepting non-perishable food item donations, to benefit Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township students experiencing food insecurity.
This is the first year the Lawrence Police Department is participating in Kroger’s annual "Pack the Cruiser" food drive.
Items needed the most are kids favorite foods including canned goods, box mac & cheese, peanut butter, jelly, breakfast cereal, granola bars and applesauce.
Lawrence PD officers will accept non-perishable food item donations, and provide suggestions for grocery items to interested customers while shopping at the Kroger store, 11101 Pendleton Pike.
“We’re excited to be the first department in Marion County to partner with Kroger during their Pack the Cruiser food drive,” said Lawrence Police Deputy Chief Gary Woodruff. “We’re also honored to partner with the Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township supporting their food pantries providing resources to students experiencing food insecurity, especially during the summer school break,” Chief Woodruff concluded.
