Upcoming Temporary Road Closures
August 7, 2019
Please be advised that there will be two temporary road closures in Lawrence in the upcoming weeks.
The first closure will begin tomorrow, August 8 on Bearsdale Drive from Pendleton Pike to 12025 Bearsdale Drive. This closure is to allow the new Kinder Care Child Care Center to connect to the sanitary sewer. The closure will last two days, and the road will re-open on August 10.
The second closure will occur on August 19 on Carroll Road just south of the Meijer’s. This portion of Carroll road is being closed to allow for the contractor for a new subdivision to perform storm sewer installation. The contractor has advised the city that Carroll Road will be closed for 5 days, and will re-open on August 24. If you commute on Carroll Road, please adhere to the following detour routes to navigate the temporary closure.
Detours:
Southbound on Carroll Road – turn West (right) onto Pendleton Pike, then turn East (left) onto 65th Street, then turn South (right) onto Carroll Road to resume your normal commute.
Northbound on Carroll Road – turn West (left) onto 65th street, then turn East (right) onto Pendleton Pike, then turn North (left) onto Carroll Road to resume your normal commute.
As always, we appreciate your understanding when temporary road closures arise. Plan your travel accordingly and exercise caution when driving through areas during construction.
