Butterfly-themed mural at Lee Road Park

July 1, 2024

Students from Lawrence North High School's National Arts Honor Society have initiated a vibrant pollinator and butterfly-themed mural at Lee Road Park, alongside Councilwoman Liz Masur.

The Lawrence Butterfly & Pollinator Habitats, established at Lee Road Park, Explorer Park, Veteran's Memorial Park, and Louis J. Jenn Memorial Park in 2021, are blossoming into fields of native flowers and grasses.

Covering 5 acres across our parks, the City of Lawrence is dedicated to supporting Monarch butterflies by cultivating native flora, including vital milkweed plants, essential for Monarch caterpillars.

Let's continue to nurture these beautiful habitats for our local wildlife!
