Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 through October 15. It starts on the 15th in commemoration of the anniversary of independence of five Hispanic countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua, who all declared independence on September 15, 1821.
