Spotlight On Melanie Castile
March 14, 2024
Meet Melanie Castile, Director of our 9-1-1 Public Safety Communications Center.
From a young age, Melanie knew that she wanted to help people, which was further confirmed as she spent endless hours admiring her own mother at work as a 9-1-1 Telecommunicator.
Now, with 14 years of experience in the high-pressure world of emergency communications, Melanie leads her team at the Lawrence Police Department with precision and grace to ensure that every call for help is answered swiftly and efficiently.
She finds her journey in emergency communications exhilarating and thrives in chaotic situations while remaining calm under pressure. Helping others is not just a job for her; it's a calling to serve her community and make an impact on people's lives behind the scenes.
Her passion for helping others extends beyond her work life, whether it's lending a listening ear to someone in need or finding a way to bring a smile to the faces of those who need it most. For Melanie, being a catalyst for positive change, public service, and 9-1-1 education is a way of life.
She has found a way to take what started as a child's dream to help others in uncertain times to the next level as a 9-1-1 Director.
