SafeCam Surveillance System Registration Program

When a crime occurs, video footage is one of the most valuable tools available to investigators and officers. 

The Lawrence Police Department is starting a new program called SafeCam that allows residents and businesses to register the location of their private video surveillance systems and make police aware of these recorded areas. This information could be crucial during a police investigation. 

The SafeCam program is a 100 percent voluntary, opt-in, free, initiative. Knowing the location of video surveillance systems allows LPD to quickly reach out to the owners and ask for their footage.
