DPW announces new paving projects this spring

DPW Director of Streets David Lotts announced that resurfacing projects are scheduled to begin March 28, assuming the weather cooperates.  All projects are scheduled to be completed by the end of May.

The five streets scheduled to be paved are Mitthoefer (46^th to 52^nd), 59^th (Lee to Sunnyside), 63^rd (Lee to Oaklandon), Sunnyside (Pendleton Pike to 59^th), and 79^th (Oaklandon to Carroll).

“We are getting off to an early start in 2017, building on the progress made last year to improve our streets across the city,” Mayor Steve Collier said.

DPW Street Department crews will begin prep work on 63^rd and 79^th in support of these projects. E&B Paving will begin the resurfacing of Mitthoefer (46^th to 52^nd) tomorrow morning. Signage has been posted to warn drivers of the upcoming projects. Lotts added, “Drivers, please plan accordingly and allow for extra time while these improvement projects are taking place.”
