Fortune Academy donates Fleece blankets to LFD

In honor of Dyslexia Awareness Month, the Fortune Academy made 50 Fortune Fleece blankets to donate to the Lawrence Fire Department’s Firefighters’ Family Assistance Program. They will be distributed to families during LFD’s annual program in December.

Chief Dino Batalis said, “They have warmed the hearts of the firefighters.” Batalis continued, "The student-produced blankets are a special form of community service, when kids are giving to help others, it’s especially nice. It will be our honor to distribute these handmade blankets.”
