Blue Star Banner Program
Lawrence honors its sons and daughters who are active military duty with Blue Star Banners. The banners hang from light posts throughout the city. The name, rank and service branch of each active-duty resident is displayed on the banner.
The criteria for a Blue Star Banner is as follows:
- Banner recipient is: currently serving in the military is either a resident, or has a family member who resides in the City of Lawrence
- Banner recipient is: actively deployed while stationed outside the State of Indiana, either overseas or domestically
With the help of local sponsors, donations, and fundraising, we are able to continue this program at no cost to our service members. Support for this worthy program in recognition of sacrifice may be forwarded to Blue Star Banner Program, 9001 E. 59th Street, Suite 301, Lawrence, IN 46216.
To submit the name of a service member who is currently serving this nation, and who meets the criteria listed above, please contact Tony Gigli at (317) 542-4445. Please click on the “Participation Application” link below and complete the application. Scan and send to tgigli@cityoflawrence.org or send by U.S. mail to:
