Snow is on the way this weekend! Here’s how Lawrence prepares for winter weather. 

With heavy snow expected this Sunday, we want to remind you of the hard work our team is already putting in to keep Lawrence safe and accessible. In this video, Streets Director Jim Heneghan shares insights from his nearly 40 years of experience managing snow and ice removal in our city.

From plowing and salting to preparing thousands of tons of salt, Jim and his team are ready for anything Mother Nature sends our way.

Pro Tips from Jim:

1. When shoveling your driveway, leave the last 2 feet to prevent the snowplow from piling snow back in.

2. If you can, move your cars off the street so snow plows can clear the roads more efficiently.
