Lawrence Township Marching Band Day of Service
June 26, 2023
Lawrence Township Marching Band Embarks on Day of
Service in Local Parks
LAWRENCE, IN – The Marching Pride of Lawrence Township (MPLT) is set to launch their 2023-24 season with a meaningful day of service dedicated to Lawrence Parks. On Monday, June 26, 2023, an impressive group of approximately 190 students will dedicate their morning to beautifying six parks across Lawrence.
Erin Leraris, the Partnership Coordinator for the Marching Pride of Lawrence Township, highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating, "The Marching Pride serves as a tight-knit community for our students. By connecting them with the larger community through a day of service, we help them realize the positive outcomes that stem from building relationships, whether on an individual or broader scale."
The day of service will encompass a range of tasks aimed at improving the parks' aesthetics and functionality. Activities include landscaping cleanup, trash collection, and painting projects for curbs and park structures. Cori Korn, Chief of Staff, emphasized Lawrence's overarching vision of "Great City Great Schools" over the past seven years and how engaging the youth in such initiatives contributes to the future development of Lawrence.
Following their day of service, the Marching Pride of Lawrence Township will be taking center stage in the annual July 4th Parade, leading the annual tradition beginning at 10 am.
