Expect delays around 79th Street, Fall Creek and Sunnyside

Reminder that IPL replaced poles along 79th Street between Fall Creek and Sunnyside, and a contractor will be pulling new wires from 10/18/21 until 11/1/21. There will be lane restrictions with flaggers letting a lane go at a time.  Expect delays in this area until November 1st. We agree with those saying that more advanced notice would have been nice. Unfortunately, this road is an Indianapolis thoroughfare, and the permitting process for this project went through Indianapolis, not through the City of Lawrence. We found out about this closure the same time as everyone else and had to inquire about what was happening.
