Seniors Fishing Tournament
September 12, 2019
There’s something fishy about the Lawrence Park’s Department’s People Over Fifty-Five (POFF).
At least there will be on Friday, September 13, 2019, when everyone is invited to participate in the 22nd annual Fishing Tournament. The event will take place at Jenn Memorial Park located at 10450 East 63rd Street, from 9:30am to 11:30am.
Even though the tournament will be catch and release (there will be no frying of these fish), a fishing license is required for those seniors born after April 1, 1943. Tackle of choice, a fishing pole and an attitude of fun are mandatory for those who plan to fish.
Don’t care to fish??? The event has more to offer like participating in fun activities, listening to live entertainment or just spending quality time with friendly people.
Following the tournament, plan to stick around for lunch. After lunch, prizes will be awarded for the fishing tournament. There will be a fun-filled afternoon of BINGO following the award presentation. Kathy Walton (Lawrence City Clerk) will be providing $100 for Bingo prizes.
For more information, or to RSVP, contact Sharon Francis with the City of Lawrence Parks Department at 549-4836.
