Paving Continues Across Lawrence
August 14, 2019
The City is continuing it's efforts to improve the roads across Lawrence. Currently there are several projects nearing completion while others are preparing to begin in the coming weeks. Below is a comprehensive list of each road project the City is currently undertaking and their respective timelines:
1) 75th Street is open from Sunnyside Road to Oaklandon Road, but several gaps between the new pavement and subdivision entrances still need to be filled. These gaps will be filled in the coming weeks with other paving work. Pavement markings on 75th Street and Sunnyside Road are planned to be completed by Saturday August 17th.
2) Oaklandon Road milling and paving is planned to start next week from roughly Verdin Street (aka 63rd Street) to 75th Street. At least one Lane will remain open for traffic.
3) After Oaklandon Road, milling and paving will start on Sunnyside Road (aka German Church Road) south of Pendleton Pike to 56th Street. At least one lane will remain open for traffic.
4) Lee Road continues to be closed just north of Trilobi Drive until Indianapolis DPW completes the culvert replacement project. This is scheduled to be completed by August 30. Then Lee Road will reopen. Milling and paving will start on Lee Road sometime after the culvert replacement project is completed and the drainage inlet repairs are completed between 56th and 59th. As with all the paving, at least one lane will remain open for traffic.
We appreciate your continued patience as we work to improve our City’s infrastructure. Please plan your travel accordingly and exercise caution when driving through areas during construction.
Please contact the Lawrence Public Works Department at 317-545-8787 with any questions.
