DPW announces new paving projects this spring
March 27, 2017
DPW Director of Streets David Lotts announced that resurfacing projects are scheduled to begin March 28, assuming the weather cooperates. All projects are scheduled to be completed by the end of May.
The five streets scheduled to be paved are Mitthoefer (46th to 52nd), 59th (Lee to Sunnyside), 63rd (Lee to Oaklandon), Sunnyside (Pendleton Pike to 59th), and 79th (Oaklandon to Carroll).
“We are getting off to an early start in 2017, building on the progress made last year to improve our streets across the city,” Mayor Steve Collier said.
DPW Street Department crews will begin prep work on 63rd and 79th in support of these projects. E&B Paving will begin the resurfacing of Mitthoefer (46th to 52nd) tomorrow morning. Signage has been posted to warn drivers of the upcoming projects. Lotts added, “Drivers, please plan accordingly and allow for extra time while these improvement projects are taking place.”
