Lawrence Police unveils bicycles for Explorer Scout Post #160

The Lawrence Police Department celebrated the launch of their Police Explorer Bike Program. Chief David Hoffman stated, “This day would not have been possible without Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Centers and we are thankful for their donation.”

Explorer Scout Post #160 will undergo several hours of training to be able to safely use various tactics on the bikes. He also said, “They will be deployed during parades, walks, and events where advisors deem it safe and necessary to do so.”

Hofmann said the Explorer Post is a great experience for youth to gain training and to serve their community.
