Brian Funk

Chief Funk was born and raised in Indianapolis and graduated from Cathedral High School. He continued his education at Ball State University before pursuing a career with Lawrence Fire Department in 2000. His certifications include Rope Rescue, Swift Water Tech, Public Safety Diver, Hazmat Tech, Instructor II & III, as well as Fire Officer II. Brian was promoted to Lieutenant in 2008, then Battalion Chief in January 2016.

He is now the Deputy Chief of Operations for the Lawrence Fire Department. Brian and his wife Jodi have two sons, Joseph (18) and Sam (16). The Funks are members of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish.
