LAWRENCE, IN: Mayor Paul Ricketts is pleased to announce the residents of the City of Lawrence now have the added convenience of having both the Lawrence Police and Fire Department offices within the Lawrence Government Center, 9001 E. 59th Street.
“The move is complete and it just makes sense for the citizens to have a ‘one stop shop’ where they can obtain permits, licenses and copies of records,” said Mayor Ricketts. “The purpose for this move was twofold, one was to consolidate these two important City departments under one roof and the other was to save the taxpayers’ money by not having to constantly repair the older building on McCoy Street, which was increasingly requiring costly maintenance.”
The move has been planned for several months and certain alterations had to be made to the Government Center building in order to accommodate the added personnel. The Lawrence Small Claims Court will still be located at the building at 4455 McCoy Street.
